CLASSICAL MUSIC
In recognition of her amazing talent as a vocalist, Shivani was decorated with two gold medals in her Master’s degree of performing arts, in Indian classical Carnatic music. She trained under illustrious gurus such as TTK Awardee Sri.Akella Mallikarjuna Sarma, Smt.Himabindu Sridhar. Shivani also came under the tutelage of Dr.Radha Sarangapani (HOD, Sri Potti Sree Ramulu Telugu University), under whose guidance she has submitted her dissertation on Carnatic Music, as part of her Master’s degree coursework. In her sojourn as a young Carnatic musician, Shivani has had the unique opportunity to work with legendary musicians including Vidwan Sri.Karaikkudi Mani, Dr.Rajkumar Bharati, Sri.Sharreth & others. She has also sung for thematic & dance production albums of various artists. Her rendition of the Kalinga Nartana Tillana has received critical acclaim from several connoisseurs.
WESTERN MUSIC
Shivani is one of the rare kind of artists endowed with equal felicity in western classical music also. She has the unique distinction of graduating from the prestigious Trinity college of London, successfully completing all the eight grades in Western classical vocals. Her voice can easily scan multiple octaves in Opera, Jazz, Broadway and Choir music. She has rendered exclusive western classical concerts in Chicago, Boston, San Francisco & Los Angeles.
FILM MUSIC
Shivani is one of the youngest playback singers in the Indian film industry and had given main & additional vocals for over a 100 major Telugu & other language films. She started singing playback for Telugu films right from the age of 12. Her first major hit song was for S.S.Rajamouli’s Magadheera, under the music direction of Golden Globe & Oscar award winning music director M.M.Keeravani. She went on to work for many films of the famous duo S.S.Rajamouli-M.M.Keeravani such as Eega, Bahubali-1 and the OSCAR winning movie RRR. She regularly sings for various albums in different languages and genres. She has several awards, accolades and has sung for a record 3000 songs in her musical career spanning 16 years. She has worked with leading music directors including Mickey J Meyer, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Mani Sharma, Pranam Kamlakar, Koti, S.S.Thaman, Shekhar Chandra, Vivek Sagar, K.M.Radhakrishnan, Chakri, Sree & others. She has won the CineGoers critics choice ‘Best playback Singer’ award for the beautiful hit melody Emaipoyano, which was composed by Padmashri M.M.Keeravani. She has won numerous other awards for her mellifluous singing in the film industry. Her rendition of the title track ‘Pranamu Pranavakaram’ from the national award winning film ‘Natyam’ of Sandhya Raju (composed by Narendra Doddapaneni) has received over 6 million views on YouTube.
